In independent applications we carefully examine the completed assessment questionnaire and any resume in order to make an accurate assessment that the client will meet or exceed the number of points required for the client to succeed in achieving permanent residency.

In appeal cases we ensure that all the evidence is before the appeal tribunal as timely disclosure to the Immigration and Refugee Board (IRB) is critical. In appeal work we ensure the appellants are well prepared for their hearing and all relevant witnesses are called to give evidence to support the appellant's case.

This is of critical importance because we have to present evidence of all the H&C factors. The appeal is like a re-hearing of all the relevant issues so all the documents and all the evidence must be presented to put the best case forward.

In deportation cases we will only accept retainers where there is a reasonable chance of preventing the client from being deported. We do not encourage judicial reviews in the Federal Court if the chance of succeeding is low, as that would be a waste of the client's money if there is no reasonable chance of success. However if there is a reasonable chance of success we will present all the available arguments to maximize the chance of success.

We also do judicial review work in the Federal Court challenging the refusal of permanent residency applications by the immigration officer.

In the refugee / asylum claims that we do, we make sure that we properly advise the client about his PIF / Narrative and the fact that it must be consistent and credible. Additionally we do all of the relevant research on country conditions to ensure that we can establish a genuine fear of persecution / lack of state protection and no reasonable flight alternative. We also ensure that all necessary conference calls to witnesses involved have been properly arranged so that they can give effective supporting evidence of the applicant's claim.
