After earning a psychology degree, Charles B. Ticker went to law school and quickly discovered that he had made the right move. “I had a real aptitude for the law and I just loved it,” he recalls.
He spent the early part of his career focusing primarily on civil litigation and honing his courtroom skills. After gaining experience at two Toronto firms, he struck out on his own in 1986. He became interested in solicitor work, and took a number of courses and seminars on wills and estate planning concentrating on estate planning and wills and trusts.
“Estates law in particular is very emotional, and clients really need some guidance through the process. If they let their emotions run rampant, there is not going to be anything left to fight about,” he explains.
Charles spends his free time volunteering for charities and playing keyboards with his garage band “The Faded Genes”.
