Biography

Melynda Layton has worked exclusively in employment law since she graduated cum laude from law school in 1994. She began her career by articling for Filion, Wakely & Thorup, a Toronto management-side boutique firm where she continued to work after her call to the bar Later, she joined Lang Michener's Bay Street office as a member of the firm's employment law group. More recently, she was a partner at Ottawa's Nelligan, O'Brien, Payne - where she further honed her skills as a litigator. At every stage of her career, she has learned the importance of good client relationships and staying on-top of case law development so that her clients are well represented. Now, having recently hung out her shingle as a solo practitioner, Layton is enjoying the opportunity to develop a practice that reflects her vision of employment law and strong client service.
